Journal 23: What's worth the effort

In the story “Raymond’s run” Squeaky always complaining about the job she had is to protect her brother who has a mental problem because his brother often does things to bother her and even get her to troubles, and the girls were also laughing at her. However, does this job really worth Squeaky to being responsible? What is it worth the effort then? I have a nephew, he is only five years old, obviously, this age is usually the most annoying part in the people’s life. So I kind of have to endure his behavior for many times, he always took my stuffs as a mess and out of control, sometimes his behaviors even make me want to punch him as hard as I can, but his a part of my family though, I still love him, even his a little devil in our family, but we are still at same side. All in all, although Squeaky thinks protecting her brother is not the job she likes, but this job can only make their relationship become better. At the end of the story, when Squeaky was about to win, the one who was cheering with the loudest voice is Raymond, the most exiting person during the race was also Raymond, Squeaky and Raymond love each other. So what worth the effort to protect her brother? It’s their love.

I agreed with your idea. You would got angry with your nephew is because you care for him. It is the relationship in a comfort family.

It sounds like you do really care about your nephew so much, because you want to correct his mistakes and his behavior, you must be a good cousin.Well done!
